Good podcast Cam because I remember some time ago a guy I used to see for lessons claimed if you could smile prior to hitting your shots you would end up with a better result. I know if things are working well for me I tend to have a grin on my face.

I like this tip Cameron, it makes a lot of sense. I’ve always tried to relax my arms and shoulders without thinking about the face muscles.

I’ll definitely give it a try!

    Cheers

Federer never strains a muscle in his face when he is playing, even at full stretch. His face is never more expressive than as if he was about nod off. Unbelievable considering the strenuous nature of top flight tennis. I suspect it is something he has trained to achieved.

A very interesting story is RF. He was always talented but his emotions used to let him down. He was always frustrated because he couldn’t beat Hewitt. But he certainly turned things around, is one of the best athletes of all time.

This also reminds me of some of the best Russian powerlifters. While everyone else were busy stretching, practising and rehearsing their lifts, the Russians would be sleeping. They would wake, do some huge cat stretches and then stroll in and break another world record.
