Interesting

Back to the stats night (this is sure getting a fair run 🙂 ).

An interesting point mentioned by the presenter is that some coaches are starting to realise that the golf swing is not overly important. They’re now thinking the most important thing is,

Scoring and playing the game.

Despite what we think, long driving and improved ball striking doesn’t have that big an impact on score.

These coaches are now mentoring their pupils to work out any way to get the ball into the hole. Instead of thinking about the swing, they’re training their clients to think about score.

I call this “playing golf” and it’s the main focus of this site.

It’s great to see some mainstream instructors catching on.

You have hit the nail on the head here because at the end of the day it’s not how (draw pictures)you get it in the hole. When I played yesterday I was confused as to why I was not playing as well as I have of late(starting to get the idea of auto process)and as much as I don’t like to think of it mid round I just realised I was rushing the process slowed it down and away I went. The moral to my story is simple is yes play auto but do not rush it .

@Lukey: Some golfers think that automatic means you MUST play quickly. This then leads them to rushing. You still need to work out what you need to do behind the ball (I call this Einsteining), then go in and hit the shot. This step is important. It can’t be rushed.

    Did you get my email?

    Talk later
