Overcoming self doubt with your golf game

I shot the below video a few years ago and the message is still as true as ever. If you get worried and concerned about your golf game this video has a great little method for dealing with pressure, doubt and fear.

Feel free to leave your thoughts.

    Hello Cam,
Played last week and I really feel I finally had my biggest breakthrough with automatic golf. My previous game I walked off the course mentally spent with the way I was playing the game! But I can honestly say last week I played eighteen holes and not once throughout the entire game did I try and analyse how or why I was playing shots!!
Once I finished the game I really feel this is a real breakthrough for me with automatic golf!!!I think I’m starting to break the old habits!
There was still plenty of poor execution but at no stage did I analyse these shots. I think what has helped me is I’m currently reading Timothy Galweys book “The Inner Game of Golf”. This book has just helped me cement automatic golf from a slightly different angle!!
I’m really enjoying reading this book and the big eye opener for me from the book is thinking down the awareness and feel of your golf swing where there’s no right or wrong way of swinging the golf club just the feel and awareness of it!!I can see some really good exercises out of this book for me that I think will help my game!He never bangs on about technique just feel and awareness-such a breath of fresh air!!!
    Would really enjoy your feedback?
PS-Still using the Shuggy and I believe its helped with the big stick!!
    Regards
    Ray

Hi Ray, this is good stuff. During my seminar I spoke about the biggest “game changers” for me. The #1 thing was reading The Inner Game of Golf. It’s a great booked and helped me see golf from a different angle. The workshop also spent considerable time going through awareness exercises and learning to wake up. So many of us play like we’re asleep – we simply don’t get that much from our game.

You’ve definitely made a huge breakthrough – and I think you’ll start to learn that results don’t always matter as much we might think.

    Keep the good stuff coming.

    Hi Ray & Cam
I too have followed Cam’s advice and am currently reading “The Inner Game of Golf” book. Haven’t got too far into it so far.
    Ray, great post.

    Hello Bernie,
I’m half way through the book and it’s an absolute cracker!!!
It’s all about automatic golf but from a slightly different angle!!
The thing I really like about it is the awareness exercises it recommends going forward with your golf and that there is no right or wrong way of doing these! Great reading!!!
Would like to hear your thoughts after you’ve got into the book?
    Regards,
    Ray
