My favourite blog post for 2009

Actually it is a series of posts I wrote. They’re from when I spent some time with Matt, a young player from my club.

The lessons below are a great way to improve your golf and start playing better. They are not about rebuilding your golf swing or getting tied down with endless golf technique. The golf lessons with Matt are all about making the most of your natural ability and learning to play your best golf.

Here they are. Five lessons that will transform your golf game.

Lesson #1

Lesson #2

Lesson #3

Lesson #4

Lesson #5

If you’re keen to start 2010 off on the right foot then these lessons are a great start. Let me know how you get on.

2010

I ended 2008 with the goal of losing some weight and improving my wedge game. I’ve got to be honest that I dropped the ball here. I didn’t apply myself enough and got distracted somewhat. The plan now is to make good on my commitment in 2010.

What goals do you want to achieve? I have found making a public commitment does help (unless you get distracted). Let me know your thoughts below.

I’d like to wish everyone all the best for 2010.

Good golfing,

Cameron.

    Hello Cameron,
    All the best for 2010.
I have set myself what I think is not an unachievable goal for 2010, that is to continue down the automatic golf path and achieve realistic improvement in my game. I have started the 3 round challenge-I had a hit last night after work which was my first round of the challenge. Certainly wasn’t the best I’ve hit the ball but I didn’t analyse I just picked the target and hit the ball with mixed results. I struggled a little on a couple of holes that the score wouldn’t of been real flash but I kept persavering! I look forward to continueing on and completing the challenge. I can already see the benifts I will gain from this challenge. Have spent a bit of time on the remarkeable golf gaining plenty of insight from the detailed video’s.In regard to the remarkeable golf would I need someone to look at my game to advise me what they believe my natural swing is?

    Regards,
    RayC

    Hi Cam
A happy new year to yourself Steady and all other devotees of the auto process.
My goal for the next year is to continue on the auto process path and to continue to better myself at auto.My results of late have been really encouraging and this alone acts as a spur to keep going so this is a resolution as such that will be easy to keep because I want to improve myself.
Once again a happy new year to one and all.
    Cheers Lukey

    Cam,
Short game improvement is my goal now especially as the long game is woefully inconsistent!
Re weight. Have you thought of going automatic with weight loss/control? E.G. Probably the most important concept is to stop eating when you feel full i.e. do not keep eating just for the taste. I sometimes don’t have ice-cream after dinner if I feel really full.
Also important is to eat when hungry(do not starve) and good food mostly.
‘AVOID SUGAR’. Sugar is the cause of a huge increase in mature onset diabetes in our community.
Diabetes you don’t want because it stuffs small arteries all over the body – kidneys, vision, brain, feet etc. bad news.
Exercise is very helpful also – walk whenever you can.
I recommend Amandaonline Dr Amanda Sainsbury-Salis com
She makes more sense than all other advice and, like you Cam, has scientifically studied her field of expertise in great detail.
Cam, thanks for your fine efforts to help us to help ourselves.
    Happy New Year.
    Cheers,
    DP

Hi Cam and all the other devotees,
May your goals for 2010 come true. Remeber be patient not petulant, have fun, enjoy your golf and play with all year heart. PLayed with a mate today shot a cruizy 77 (5 over) with a double. My goal is for more golfers to get switched on to auto golf. I have felt at times the way i’ve played that I was an imposter spruking auto golf. But today I got the excitement back in playing, played witha great long time friend and had an absolute ball. PLayed auto all day. Will say this that the double was a club selection mistake air mailed the green with an 8 iron from 140m out. Just absolutely smoked it which btw cost me 2 shots. I never get upset about hitting a great shot with a shitty result any more. My other goal is also to lose sum puddin. Since I stopped smoking 10 months ago I’ve put on 9kgs.
2010 will be great year on the 14th Jan I turn 40. LIke a good wine getting better with age.ha ha .
All the best fellow golfers. Try to get more people onto the website and spread the word about auto golf as it is the best way to play.
    Cheers Steady

Oh good, its just not me then! I’ve been feeling a bit like that today after crashing and burning with a wild score this afternoon. Despite the carnage however you know deep down that this is still the path out of the jungle. You’re going to cop a few scratches from the thorns on the way but eventually you’ll emerge into daylight if you don’t turn back.

    Cameron,
as I write this you guys in Australia are already in 2010 but I’ve still got 7 hours to go !!
my goals are 1) to complete my transition to automatic golf 2) to reduce my handicap to 9 where it was 2 years ago, and 3) to win a monthly medal
I think if I can hit the first goal, the other 2 will follow
    All the best for 2010
    Gregor
